The Czechia is still the most suitable destination for production in Europe and the fifth in the world

The Czech Republic once again ranked high in the ranking of the 47 countries most suitable for production. Thanks to a good evaluation in all criteria, such as operating costs, labor, political and economic risks or the ability to restart after the coronavirus crisis, it took fifth place worldwide and first in Europe. Since 2016, when the Czech Republic was first included in the Manufacturing Risk Index ranking of the real estate consulting company Cushman & Wakefield, it has regularly been one of the most favorable destinations for the location of production facilities.

Czech industrial vacancy rate falls to lowest level ever recorded

According to Savills, the Czech nationwide industrial vacancy rate declined again and reached a new historic low of 2.4%, after dropping by 89 basis points (bps) since the end of 2020. The volume of new industrial space delivered to the market during H1 2021 was 43% down year-on-year (y-o-y). The total stock of modern industrial premises in the country grew by 192,300 sqm, of which 110,800 sqm were completed in Q2 2021. At the end of June, the total stock stood at 9.3 million sqm.

Developer Prologis starts to build carbon-neutral warehouses. The first will grow south of Paris

The new logistics facility located in Prologis Park Moissy 2 south of Paris will become Prologis' first carbon-neutral warehouse, which prevents emissions and reduces and compensates for 100 percent of the impacts associated with construction, operations or maintenance throughout the life of the building. The building is designed without a gas connection. It will use energy-saving elements of its design, roof solar panels, purchased ecological energy and thermal energy stored in the well for heating, cooling and electricity supply.

Arete buys in Beroun for EUR 10 mln

The third fund of the ARETE Group focused on quality industrial and logistics assets in the region of Central and Eastern Europe completed in July the acquisition of a production and storage facility near Beroun, 20 km from Prague. This is the acquisition of a complex used for the production and storage of the Czech company Hronovský s.r.o., which was founded in 1990 and is one of the leaders in the field of cable assembly production, machining on CNC machines, pressing of plastic components and assembly of mechatronic components. The financial volume of the transaction exceeded almost EUR 10 million.

Investment in LED lighting reduces Gefco's electricity consumption by 78%

The Gefco branch in Cologne is now completely illuminated by modern, highly efficient LED technology. The investment of 5.5 million crowns was made by the company in two stages in 2019 and 2020. The exchange of technology was reflected in the year of the end of the investment, namely a 78% saving in energy consumption for lighting. The investment is part of Gefco's sustainability strategy. The next step should be the installation of solar panels in the storage areas of the Cologne branch.
