Logistics solutions provider DB Schenker is increasing capacity at its terminal in Rudná u Prahy. Nine years ago, he opened an administrative building and warehouse there, which is still one of his largest cross-dock terminals in the Czech Republic, and will now increase its capacity by another 50%.
The partnership memorandum was signed today by the developer CTP with the collection and waste company SAKO Brno in the presence of representatives from Brno. The subject of future cooperation between a private company and a municipal enterprise is the use of electrical energy produced from waste by SAKO Brno for the parking garage in Brno's CTPark Líšeň. The project is part of the developer's long-term focus on sustainable business.
Demand for industrial and logistics space has increased over the past year, also as a result of the pandemic. Average storage costs in 52 global markets rose by 8.4% between June 2021 and June 2022, according to Savills. In Prague, these costs even increased by 35.8%.
GARBE, Industrial Real Estate CEE, specialist in logistics and industrial real estate, has signed a future contract with Fielmann for the occupation of approximately 30,000 square meters in GARBE Park Chomutov. The German company plans to create a highly automated production and supply center worth EUR 65 million here. The investment is part of the Fielmann Group's strategic program to improve delivery times and product availability, increase profitability while reducing costs and carbon footprint. The contract will be signed for 15 years. Complete construction completion is planned for the first half of 2023.
In the second quarter of this year, the total leasable area of modern warehouse and industrial premises in the Czech Republic reached 10.15 million square meters. Despite the fact that 153,000 square meters of new premises were delivered to the market, which is an increase of 35% compared to the second quarter of last year, the vacancy rate fell to 1.0%, while in the Prague and surrounding region it remained at the level of 0.5% .
All areas of the Sázava Logistic Park near the Central Bohemian center of Ostředek are leased. For the remaining hall, developer UDI Group signed a lease with forwarding company Emons this month. The first of the halls is already completely finished and in operation, three others are finishing. The entire construction of the area for one billion crowns with roughly 50,000 square meters of industrial space will be completed at the beginning of 2023.
Developer P3 Logistic Parks leased additional premises in its Ostrava park. In the heart of the industrial metropolis of the Moravian-Silesian region, P3 will welcome the company Tefcold, which is engaged in the distribution of cooling, freezing and heating technology. The premises will be ready for occupancy at the beginning of next year.
Spaces are no longer available in the newly built Hall B in Panattoni Park Ostrov North. The remaining part of it will be used for expansion by the manufacturing company Amphenol Tuchel Industrial and also by the e-commerce company Kokiska.
