"The security of our premises, as well as the use of modern technologies, is key for us, and that is why we deployed an operational drone in the trial operation. The main purpose of the testing was to map the perimeter with the demarcation of potentially risky areas and analyze the further use of drones in the car factory premises," describes Šárka Šindlerová from the physical security department at the HMMC premises, which lasted several months. According to the current announcement from Telink, the Korean manufacturer has decided to use drones in live operation: their task is to comprehensively protect the 200-hectare premises and ensure greater efficiency of some logistics operations.
The system allows for automatic control using drones in 24/7 mode even in adverse weather conditions. Unmanned machines can be used, for example, when "counting" manufactured cars waiting in cargo parking lots.
Telink, an importer and distributor of DJI industrial drones for the Czech and Slovak Republics, offers a solution with Czech software and an optional option to operate the docking station even without an internet connection.
The drone lands with centimeter precision
“The DJI Dock 2 generation (this is the second generation of the docking station – ed. note) has simplified landing, the drone automatically lands with centimeter precision. In addition, the new design of the drone centering also makes charging easier,” says Jaroslav Řešátko, CEO of Telink, which imports industrial drones to the Czech Republic and provides their service and pilot training.
“The operator can see in real time not only the drone’s flight path and the real image from the cameras, but can also remotely monitor the docking station, which is equipped with an internal and external camera. Operation is usually strictly programmed, but the operator is also able to partially control the drone. After the flight, data is automatically saved and processed. For example, highly accurate 2D maps and 3D models can be created, in which distances, angles or cubatures can be measured. The system is also supplemented with a device for monitoring drones,” adds Jaroslav Řešátko.
The flight task itself can be controlled from a remote workplace thanks to the cloud platform. The DJI Dock provides the drone with the necessary conditions for operation – it is equipped with an active temperature control system that allows operation in the range from -30 °C to 50 °C, it is equipped with an integrated weather station, but can receive information from other sources.
