This step enables the installation of technologies, configuration of internal processes, and preparation of warehouse operations well in advance of the planned full launch in 2026.
Early Handover Accelerates Operational Ramp-Up
The logistics complex in Mošnov is being developed as part of the third phase of the Ostrava Airport Multimodal Park (OAMP) and is one of the largest logistics projects in the Czech Republic.
Developer Gridarch is enabling the future operator, a logistics partner of BMW Group, to gradually integrate systems directly within the real warehouse environment. The goal is to minimize risks during the go-live phase and ensure a smooth ramp-up of all logistics processes.
Key Hub for BMW Overseas Logistics
The new distribution center will serve as a strategic hub for BMW Group’s overseas logistics operations. From Mošnov, components will be shipped to production plants outside Europe, particularly in Asia as well as North and South America.
The site benefits from a unique multimodal location near Leoš Janáček Ostrava Airport, with direct connections to road and rail infrastructure, enabling efficient integration of air, truck, and rail transport.
Project Scale and Future Capacity
The logistics complex will offer more than 120,000 m² of modern warehouse and operational space. The development includes three new halls designed for highly efficient material flow and the integration of automated logistics systems.
Once fully operational, the center will become one of BMW’s key nodes within its global supply chain network.
Employment and Regional Impact
The project is expected to significantly strengthen employment in the Moravian-Silesian region, with hundreds of new jobs anticipated as operations scale up.
Mošnov continues to reinforce its position as one of the most important logistics and industrial hubs in Central Europe, attracting global manufacturers and logistics operators.
Trend: Early Access as a Standard in Modern Logistics
The “early access” model has become increasingly common in large logistics developments. It allows future tenants to test systems, train employees, and optimize processes before official launch.
In the case of Mošnov, this approach significantly improves operational ramp-up efficiency and reflects the growing importance of digitalization and careful planning in modern intralogistics projects.
