BattSwap will use the new premises as a key technology hub for the assembly, storage, and dispatch of its automated container units designed for robotic battery swapping for electric commercial vehicles. The transaction brings a significant player in clean mobility into the park, directly supporting the development of infrastructure for sustainable urban last-mile logistics.

Unique technology for zero-downtime logistics

Founded in 2015, BattSwap has developed a comprehensive e-mobility ecosystem for urban logistics that addresses the challenges of long charging times and high demands on the power grid. Instead of conventional charging, it relies on robotic battery-swapping technology. An automated station the size of a shipping container can replace a depleted vehicle battery with a fully charged one in less than 3 minutes. This significantly reduces vehicle downtime, allowing delivery fleets to operate efficiently throughout the day.

Compared to standard fast-charging stations, the system consumes only one-tenth of the power input, meaning it can be integrated into existing electrical grids without costly upgrades.

“Our technology demonstrably removes the main barriers to electric adoption in commercial fleets. To meet rapidly growing demand from European logistics operators, we needed top-tier facilities that can flexibly respond to our production and operational needs,” said Radek Janků, co-founder and CEO of BattSwap. “Prologis Park Prague-Rudná met all our requirements—from its excellent strategic location near the D5 motorway to the ability to fully adapt interior spaces to the specific needs of assembling our stations.”

Tailor-made spaces and technical innovations

The warehouse spaces will be fully adapted for the assembly and integration of these technological units. The technical equipment of the leased hall will include, among other things, a newly installed modern paint shop, which is essential for the final surface finishing of the robotic swapping stations.

As with other buildings in the Prologis portfolio, sustainability, energy efficiency, and integration of modern technologies play a key role, fully aligning with BattSwap’s vision of reducing the carbon footprint in freight transport.

“We are very pleased to welcome BattSwap to Prologis Park Prague-Rudná. Their arrival confirms that our parks are not only places for traditional logistics, but are becoming technological hubs for innovative companies that are transforming the entire industry,” said Martin Čihák, Leasing and Customer Experience Manager at Prologis. “Our shared focus on sustainability and CO₂ reduction aligns strongly with BattSwap. We believe that the flexibility of our spaces and the premium location of the park will provide this ambitious Czech startup with ideal conditions for its continued dynamic growth and expansion into European markets.”

Strategic location with excellent accessibility

Prologis Park Prague-Rudná benefits from a prime location directly at Exit 5 of the D5 motorway. This provides fast connections to major national and international transport routes—Prague city center is just 20 kilometers away, and Václav Havel Airport Prague is 12 kilometers away.

The park serves as an ideal distribution hub for both national and European logistics. In addition to excellent truck access, it also offers convenient public transport connections for employees and an on-site Property Management team, ensuring high operational standards and efficiency for all tenants.

The park has recently been expanded with an additional modern warehouse building of 17,455 square meters. Prologis Park Prague-Rudná now consists of 20 buildings with a total area exceeding 254,000 square meters of modern logistics and production space, making it one of the key national and international distribution hubs in the region.
