High-Value Manufacturing Expands in the Region
The facility is currently being fitted with production technologies as operations are gradually ramped up. The plant will focus on manufacturing specialty silicone materials used across multiple industries, including automotive, energy, electric mobility, healthcare, and electronics. (systemylogistiky.cz)
This is Wacker’s second production site in the Czech Republic, alongside its long-established operations in Plzeň, where the company has been active since 2007.
Strategic Location for Logistics and Manufacturing
The new facility is located in the Bohatice district on the northeastern edge of Karlovy Vary. Its position provides strong connectivity to the D6 motorway, road I/6, and the European route E442, as well as access to regional railway infrastructure. (systemylogistiky.cz)
This connectivity supports efficient logistics operations, supply chain management, and employee commuting, making the site suitable for modern industrial production.
Industrial Development by Panattoni and Accolade
The project was developed by Panattoni in cooperation with investment group Accolade. The development took several years and was designed to attract a high-value manufacturing tenant with advanced technological requirements.
The project also included new infrastructure improvements, such as access roads and pedestrian connections, improving the overall accessibility of the area.
Sustainability and ESG Standards
The facility has been designed in line with modern ESG requirements. It includes heat pumps, heat recovery systems, preparation for photovoltaic installation, and advanced rainwater management solutions. The project aims to achieve a BREEAM Excellent certification level. (systemylogistiky.cz)
The operation is designed to function without fossil fuels, reflecting broader European trends in sustainable industrial development.
Job Creation and Regional Impact
Once fully operational, the site is expected to employ around 200 people, primarily skilled workers in manufacturing and technical roles. (systemylogistiky.cz)
The project contributes to job creation in the Karlovy Vary region and supports the diversification of the local economy toward higher-value industrial production.
Significance for the Industrial and Logistics Market
From a logistics and industrial real estate perspective, the project highlights a continuing trend of international manufacturing companies investing in modern, energy-efficient facilities outside major metropolitan areas.
Karlovy Vary is strengthening its position as a viable location for advanced manufacturing, supported by improving infrastructure and access to key transport corridors.
If this trend continues, regional industrial hubs across the Czech Republic may play an increasingly important role in Europe’s evolving manufacturing and logistics landscape.
