The approval marks an important milestone in FM Logistic’s long-term sustainability strategy, known as “Powering 2030.” The company aims to strengthen its position as a leader in sustainable omnichannel supply chain solutions while significantly reducing the environmental impact of its operations.
Under its approved targets, FM Logistic commits to reducing absolute greenhouse gas emissions in Scope 1 and Scope 2 by 42% by 2030 compared to the 2024/2025 baseline period. In addition, the company plans to reduce Scope 3 transport-related emissions by 21.52% per tonne-kilometre. Transport represents the largest share of the company’s total carbon footprint, accounting for approximately three-quarters of total emissions.
To achieve these goals, FM Logistic is implementing a structured decarbonisation strategy based on three key pillars: efficiency, optimisation, and fuel/energy transition. In its warehousing and logistics operations, the company is focusing on improving energy performance, expanding renewable energy use, and gradually reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
A key part of this strategy is the “Watt Watcher” programme, which includes dozens of initiatives aimed at reducing energy consumption across operations. These measures include the installation of heat pumps, deployment of photovoltaic systems, and increased electrification of site operations. Starting from the 2025/2026 fiscal year, FM Logistic also aims to source 100% of its electricity from renewable energy.
In transport operations, the company plans to further optimise delivery routes, increase the use of rail transport where possible, and deploy low-emission mobility solutions. Another priority is improving load consolidation and maximising transport efficiency across supply chains.
Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important factor in the logistics and industrial real estate sector. Energy-efficient warehouses, renewable energy integration, and emissions reduction strategies are increasingly seen as standard requirements for modern logistics facilities and tenants.
FM Logistic’s validated climate targets reflect the broader transformation of the logistics industry, where environmental performance is becoming a key driver of competitiveness and long-term value.
